Previously I answered the question about whether or not you should have a separate Facebook profile for your business. The clear answer is no as it is a violation of Facebooks terms, but also not practical based on how Facebook works. If you did not read that post, please do so first as it walks you through the basics of setting up your Facebook page. The goal of this post, is to walk you through the steps of how to create the best Facebook page for your business; one that can be found and that people want to join.
Step 1 – Adding your logo
You should see a large question mark in the upper left of the page where the logo will reside. Place your mouse over the question mark, and you will see a popup that says “change picture” (see image below). Click on this, and you will then see a drop down menu where you can select “upload a picture” (see image below).

(click on “change picture”)

(click on “Upload a Picture”)
Step 2 – Edit the Page Preferences
Right under the newly added logo, you will see an option to “Edit Page.” Once you select this, you will then see several options to edit your page settings. In the upper right corner of each of the rectangular boxes, you will see the icon to edit that section (see the example below).
![]()
Click on “edit” and you will see the option to set any age and country restrictions.
In the next section (Wall Settings), you can set the default views and also determine what the Fans are allowed to post. The more you allow Fans to post, the more you will have to “police” the page to make sure that no one posts anything that would discredit the page.

In the Mobile section, you can add your cell phone so that you can update your page from your mobile phone if you’d like.
Step 3 – Applications
The applications are pretty self explanatory, but I do want to show you how to add your blog, which I believe is the most critical application because it allows you to automatically have your blog content posted to your Facebook Page.
Select “Edit” on the Notes Application
![]()
Once you select edit, you will be taken to another page where you will see the option to “import a blog” in the middle of the right side of the page.

From there, you will be directed to the next page, where you can enter the blog URL (must be your own blog), select the check box, and click on the ”start importing” button. Next, you need to select “confirm” to confirm the import of the blog.

You’re almost done. Just one more edit before you set the page live. Click on the logo, and you will be taken back to the home page. Right under the logo, you can click on the (now familiar) edit icon and write your page description. Once you are finished, select the link (or button) that says ”publish this page.” Here is the final product for the page I created in this exercise; the Family Dental Guide Facebook page (and yes, it is a real Facebook Page for a real business).
This was another long one, but I hope you found it helpful. The final installation of this series will be on promoting your Facebook Page and I hope to have that live by the end of the week.

[...] 2. If you don’t have a Facebook Fan page, start one. It does not cost anything to set it up, and it’s really not that difficult. Here is a link to the first of a “how to” series I wrote on creating a Facebook page. [...]

I get that Ford is pushing the Mustang, but wouldn’t times against other cars in it’s class have been better? If the Impreza is pulling a sub 10 minute rally, then the Mustang is NOT a good rally car. All this video proves is that a rear wheel drive Ford can rally, but the Escort proved that in the WRC 20 years ago..
